First Play Date

Griffin had his first official play date today. We got together with 3 of my sorority sisters from FSU. Jessi, Sarah and Lucia. Jessi had twin girls 2 days after Griffin was born. She was giving birth at Northside the same day we were leaving Northside! Sarah has 2 boys; Jake was at school so we got to play with Ben. He's 5 months old and he's a big boy! It's crazy to think that Griffin will be that big some day. Lucia was in town from NYC spending the week with Jessi and the girls. It was so fun to see everyone and catch up!

Believe it or not, at one point all the kids fell asleep. Look closely - there's G on the floor, the girls in the bouncy seats, and Ben in the swing. So sweet. This gave the adults a chance to eat some lunch and catch up!

Thanks for having us over Jessi! We loved our play date and hope to have many more!

T-R-O-U-B-L-E

For those of you who have known me for quite some time, you will know that we are in T-R-O-U-B-L-E as soon as you see this photo.....

....for those who don't get this....

I sucked my two middle fingers like this for way, WAY, WAAAAAY too long as a child (and by child I mean pushing adulthood).

Griffin has been "exploring" with his hands in his mouth. Usually it's an entire fist or random fingers, sometimes he actually finds his thumb and sometimes he finds these two jewels. (Ohhh, how they soothed me as a child. Memories....)

We're trying to not encourage the finger sucking and pull his hand away from his mouth often. We're fine with the paci option...figuring we can "lose" the pacis at the appropriate age. :)

Weekends are Great

Now that I am not working, it sounds kind of funny (even to me) to say, "I love weekends!" It's not like I have to dread gearing up for another work week and my schedule isn't all that different from a week day, but the days are just so much more relaxed! I know it has a lot to do with having Chad home and not having to do everything myself. He helps out so much...plus, it's just way more fun to play with Griffin and go through the day together. (Having another adult around is a plus too...notice I didn't say anything about adult conversation, because we mostly just talk baby talk with Griffin, haha.)

We're to a point where Griffin really is able to respond and interact. It's so fun...and his smile is just killer. It totally melts my heart and INSTANTLY puts me in a good mood.

2 Month Stats

On Tuesday Griffin had his 2 month appointment. This was his first round of shots...he did okay with it...and by okay, I mean he screamed his head off when the shots went in (3 of 'em), but after screamed his head off, he tired himself out so much, he was out by the time we left the dr. office.

The doctor said he looked good! His stats as of this appointment:

Weight = 11lbs. 1oz. (40th percentile)

Height - 23 inches (50th percentile)

We're glad our boy is growing!!

Below is a video from today. Griffin is sitting in his Bumbo seat. He's not quite strong enough to hold his head up for very long. You can tell his poor little neck gets tired (see the photos).

Griffin's 1st Easter

We had a great Easter weekend around here! The Herrings came in for a few days and got to spend some quality time with their grandson, we took Griffin to church for the first time on Easter sunday, went to my parent's house for lunch with the Herrings, the Lovetts and the Boyds, and then Griffin looked at his treats in his Easter basket! It was a great few days spent with family and taking some time to celebrate being a Christian and honoring Jesus Christ! We have so much to be thankful for!

April Fools

I don't have a good April Fools joke or anything, but I do have some cute pics of Griffin from today. The weather was beautiful so we spent some time on the deck before bedtime. We are loving this Spring weather!
